The Elbow Reef Foundation is a newly registered non-profit 501(c)(3), founded in 2020 to supplement community activity spaces and historical preservation sites for the citizens of Elbow Cay.

Help the Elbow Reef Lighthouse Society do what they do best!We are working directly with the custodians of the Elbow Reef Lighthouse as well as its partners in restoration to help facilitate funding for the restoration needs of this iconic landmark after the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Dorian in September 2019.
Unique in all the world, this rare, 'complete' lightstation, with all its original buildings, is the only active hand-wound, kerosene burning lighthouse of its kind remaining on the planet. |
Nine damaged outbuildings at the lightsationHurricane Dorian was a storm more powerful than any previously recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, with steady winds of 185 miles an hour and gusts of 220 miles an hour, Dorian hit this little island with 30ft storm surges, two feet of rain and an estimated 16 tornados.
