The foundation’s vision is to first provide a beacon of hope to the rebounding and rebuilding community of Elbow Cay by preserving the integrity of the Elbow Reef Lightstation for visitors, students, the local community, the nation of the Bahamas and the rest of the world. After a complete restoration of the lightstation, the foundation wishes to continue to raise funds towards the betterment of the community in the areas of citizenry, museums, historical treasures and community spaces.
The Icon
Our logo draws inspiration from the iconic weather vane atop Elbow Reef Lighthouse—a symbol of forward movement, progress, and hope for the future. Flanking the weather vane are two faces, representing the collaborative spirit essential to meaningful change: foundations and communities, donors and doers, vision and action, all working in partnership toward shared goals. Rising above the lighthouse dome, these two figures meet, touching foreheads in a gesture of unity and mutual commitment, their gaze cast downward as guardians watching over the island’s rich heritage and the people who sustain it.
